Durbin should worry about our own constitution

On Page 2 of the Daily Herald issue Feb. 16, there is a small write-up entitled "Durbin joins message to Poland."

Reading further down the article, you find that Durbin and two of the other geniuses in the U.S. Senate wrote a letter to new Prime Minister Beata Syzdio. Apparently the new Prime Minister has made some changes to the laws of Poland that gives the government of Poland new powers that may ignore their Constitution and Durbin along with the European Union does not like that.

Imagine that, Sen. Dick Durbin concerned about Poland's Constitution being disregarded by a politician. OK, Sen. Durbin I will ask you now. When are you going to do something about the current president that has been ignoring our Constitution and does not seem to care?

Did you not take the oath of office that starts out by you affirming that "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same."

It is time for you to forget the people that ignore Poland's constitution and worry about a president that ignores our constitution.
