Elgin molester gets 3 years in prison
A 40-year-old Elgin man was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a girl he knew, according to Kane County court records.
Anselmo Tlalacalco-Rodriguez, of the 300 block of Wellington Street, pleaded guilty Friday to a reduced charge of criminal sexual abuse in exchange for prosecutors dismissing more severe charges that carried up to 30 years in prison, records show.
Tlalacalco-Rodriguez was originally charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a felony that carried a minimum sentence of six years in prison and a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender, records show. He was accused of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 8 from Carpentersville.
Tlalacalco-Rodriguez also must pay $1,050 in fines and register as a sex offender under the plea accepted by Kane County Judge Linda Abrahamson, records show.
He can have his prison term cut in half for good behavior, and gets credit for more than 200 days served at the Kane County jail since his arrest.
