Independent Players present "The Octette Bridge Club" at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, March 4-19, at the Elgin Arts Showcase, 164 Division St., eighth floor, Elgin.

The play by P.J. Barry is a thoroughly delightful chronicle of family life, set in 1934 and 1944 which has been called "a sentimental group portrait ... as nostalgic as a Saturday Evening Post cover." An ensemble of 8 "sisters" come together for gossip and bridge.

Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors, $10 for students.
