State Senate candidate knows budgeting

It seems to me that we need more people in Springfield who actually understand finances and how to balance a budget.

My pick for state Senate District 26 is Martin McLaughlin, a businessman and financial expert who has spent the past few decades managing pensions.

Considering the biggest issues facing our state are our unbalanced budget, out-of-control spending, the pension crisis, and our weak economic recovery, I think McLaughlin is exactly the kind of expert we need in Springfield to help Gov. Rauner turn this state around.

In fact, McLaughlin continues to talk about running the state like a business and holding people accountable. He's clearly not a politician, which I like. He told me he "wants to get the politicians out of the room and just fix things."

Plus, he's going to hold himself to term limits. Martin McLaughlin has got my vote.
