Mayor right to drop aldermen's insurance

The mayor of Des Plaines has it correct. We all know, that to obtain benefits in the real world, part-time employees have to work a minimum of 30 hours a week. My guess is that the aldermen do not even work 30 hours a month.

Where else than in politics can people vote themselves a pay raise or benefits? Historically, most aldermen have jobs or own businesses where they receive a higher income than most residents in the towns that they serve. This would allow them to obtain insurance at public rates vs. discounted political rates.

To pay 12 cents on the dollar is a slap in face to the people that they serve. Working for the great city of Des Plaines is a privilege not a right.

I believe that they should give and not take. Kennedy once said "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." Looks like the Des Plaines aldermen have gotten it backward for the past 30 years.

If my theory is correct, about 98 percent of politicians are out to feather their own nests. Not to worry aldermen of Des Plaines, I figure Mayor Bogusc won't be there long, I think Trump is looking for a running mate.
