'Try Hockey for Free' draws kids to West Dundee ice rink
The unusually warm weather couldn't melt the kids enthusiasm at the Leafs Ice Centrein West Dundee Saturday.
Kids from 4 to 9 years old interested in learning the game of hockey came out to the rink to try their hand at the game.
More than 300 rinks across the country participated in the "Try Hockey for Free" day, which was sponsored by Kraft Heinz.
The prospective players had the chance to try out a full load of hockey gear or bring their own while they were coached by staff from the Leafs Ice Centre.
The program leads into the rink's in-house program and then eventually on to travel hockey,
