Late goal keeps Adelaide unbeaten in 12 A-League matches

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - Kenyan-born winger Bruce Kamau scored in the 90th minute to give Adelaide a 1-0 away win over the Melbourne Victory on Friday, moving United provisionally into third place in the A-League.

Late substitute Kamau's goal on a deflection kept Adelaide unbeaten in its last 12 games. Its 33 competition points are two behind leading Brisbane and one behind the second-place Western Sydney Wanderers.

The loss left the Victory level on points with fourth-place Melbourne City, but behind on goal difference.

The league leaders will have a chance to extend the gap on Adelaide when Brisbane plays in Perth and Western Sydney takes on Sydney FC in a sold-out derby at Sydney Football Stadium, both on Saturday.

On Sunday, Melbourne City hosts last-place Central Coast to close out the 20th round.
