Calhoun, Ball State beat Northern Illinois 63-59

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Bo Calhoun had 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as four other Ball State players scored in double figures and the Cardinals beat Northern Illinois 63-59 Friday night.

Franko House and Francis Kiapway scored 11 apiece, while Jeremie Tyler and Sean Sellers each added 10 points for Ball State.

Five Cardinals (18-9, 9-5 Mid-American Conference) scored during an 11-2 run that pushed their lead to 45-32 with 11 minutes to play.

A conventional 3-point play by Levi Bradley pulled Northern Illinois (18-9, 7-7) within six with 1:44 left, but Tyler responded with a 3 to make it 62-53 30 seconds later and Ball State held on from there.

Travon Baker led Northern Illinois with 19 points. Marin Maric added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Huskies committed a season-low five turnovers, but shot just 31.6 percent (18 of 57) from the field.
