17 years in prison for Aurora child sex assault
An Aurora man recently was sentenced to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a child younger than 12 that he knew from 2010 to 2014, and soliciting the victim's sibling, prosecutors said.
Donald Fifelski, 61, of the 400 block of North Avenue, last week pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault and indecent solicitation of a minor, both felonies.
Prosecutors said between June 2010 and June 2014 Fifelski sexually assaulted a child and then solicited the victim's sibling. The sibling refused.
Kane County Judge John Barsanti accepted the guilty plea, which also requires Fifelski to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Fifelski was sentenced to 10 years on the solicitation charge and seven on the sexual assault charge. He must serve 85 percent of the sex assault sentence, but can have the solicitation sentence cut in half for good behavior.
He also gets credit for 350 days served at the Kane County jail while the charges were pending.
