Support Kiwanis Bowlathon for Spastic Paralysis Feb. 27
The Kiwanis Division 10 Bowlathon for Spastic Paralysis will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, from noon until 3 p.m. at the Bowling Green Sports Center in West Chicago.
Spastic paralysis is a symptom of various diseases or conditions of the central nervous system that cause stiffness or rigidity in the muscles (spasticity) that in turn interferes with walking, movement or speech.
Researchers have studied diseases such as brain tumors, spina bifida and developmental diseases of premature infants. The cause is special to Kiwanians, as their focus is on children.
St. Charles Kiwanians have signed up to bowl or to pledge a donation to raise money for the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation.
If you are not a St. Charles Kiwanis member, and would like to make a contribution, please send a check to the St. Charles Kiwanis Foundation, P.O. Box 3, St. Charles, IL 60174 and write "Spastic Paralysis/Bowlathon" on the memo line.
One hundred percent of donations go directly to the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation.
