Columbus woman arrested for allegedly impersonating nurse

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - Police have arrested a south central Indiana woman on charges of posing as a registered nurse at several assisted living facilities and home care businesses in the region.

Columbus police say they arrested 45-year-old Holly M. Whyde on Thursday on federal warrants for false statements relating to health care matters and aggravated identity theft. Police turned her over to the custody of federal marshals.

Police spokesman Lt. Matt Harris says a detective determined Whyde used the professional identity of another person to work as a registered nurse over four years. He says Whyde is believed to have worked primarily in an administrative role, but she did provide some patient care.

It wasn't clear whether Whyde has an attorney who might comment on her behalf.
