Wauconda, Carmel bow out

Resurrection, seeded third in the Class 3A St. Viator girls basketball sectional, ended Wauconda's season with a 53-43 decision Thursday night in regional championship play at Chicago Senn.

The Bulldogs bow out with a record of 16-12 under coach Jaime Dennis.

Resurrection meets Johnsburg in a 7:30 p.m. sectional semifinal matchup Tuesday at St. Viator.

At Carmel

Second-seeded Johnsburg was too much for Carmel Catholic, eliminating the Corsairs 49-22 on Thursday.

Johnsburg improved to 26-3, while No. 7 seed Carmel exits the postseason with a 10-20 record.

Advancing in the 3-point contest were Megan Madsen of Johnsburg, Brecken Overly of Woodstock and Dani DeLozier and Alexa Amato of Carmel.
