Join in Italian dinner, Stations of the Cross March 11 at St. Catherine of Siena

In the mood for a delicious Italian dinner and supporting a cause? The St. Catherine of Siena Church Youth Mission Team hosts its fifth annual Italian Dinner on Friday, March 11, with seating from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the St. Catherine of Siena School gym, 845 W. Main St. in West Dundee.

Immediately following the dinner, guests will gather in the church for prayer and Stations of the Cross.

Family and friends are invited to attend to help support the Youth Mission Team and their upcoming mission trip to Mishawaka, Indiana this summer.

The Lenten meatless meal includes pasta with marinara sauce, garlic bread, salad, beverage and dessert. A kids meal option offers: butter noodles, carrots and ranch dressing, drink and cookie.

Cost is $12, $7 for children, age 3-10, or seniors 65 and older. Children, age 3 and under, are admitted free; immediate family cap is $35. The teens who will be attending the mission trip will be servers for the evening.

During the mission trip this summer, the team will work on individual houses doing construction, rebuilding, repairing, putting in new windows, and painting for frail elderly members of the community. The team is also scheduled to do work with day care sites, homeless shelters, family centers, food banks, homes for the elderly, and building and planting community gardens to provide a source of fresh fruits and vegetables in low income communities.

The St. Catherine of Siena Youth Mission Team has held 11 mission trips and have supported volunteering endeavors for the past nine years through the Catholic Heart Work Camp organization.
