Priest from Indiana Shares His Art Deco Collection with Glen Ellyn Wheaton Community Associates
Wed. Feb. 17, the Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago celebrated a post Valentine Luncheon by sharing a great meal at The Carlisle Banquets in Lombard and being informed and entertained by a lecture from Father Andrew Corona, a priest from Portage, Indiana as well as an expert on the Art Deco artist, Erte'. Erte's actual name was Romain de Tirtoff and he was a Russian-born French artist and one of the first proponents of Art Deco. Father Corona shared books, posters and paintings from his collections with the audience and each person received a three page booklet with examples of the Erte' drawing and painting.
