Lake County Women's Club holds Downton Abbey Tea
Submitted by Carolyn Gleeson
The Lake County Women's Club held a Downton Abbey Tea Feb. 10 at the State Bank of the Lakes in Grayslake.
Winter meetings usually draw about 40 members, but 70 ladies braved a cold February day to attend this tea. Many of them came in vintage clothing, hats, gloves and accessories.
Mary Beth Buchanan and her committee did an outstanding job of preparing the menu, which included finger sandwiches, scones, desserts, clotted cream and, of course, British blend tea.
A harpist played during the tea to add to the ambience of the day.
Silver tea services were used by the co-chairs, Nancy Musselman and Carolyn Gleeson, to pour tea.
