Man convicted of murder pleads guilty in police chase
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A man convicted of murdering three children when he set fire to a southern Indiana home two years ago has pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness in a police chase four days later.
The News and Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1TjMoLR ) 20-year-old Cody Cashion pleaded guilty Monday to criminal recklessness in a head-on crash with a Clarksville police patrol car. He originally had been charged with attempted murder and other charges in the crash that injured a police officer.
Cashion's court-appointed attorney, Mickey Weber, says Cashion denies being the driver of the car.
The plea calls for Cashion to serve eight year in prison. That sentence will run concurrent to a 65-year sentence he is serving in the deaths in New Albany of 2-year-old Trinity Hughes, 4-year-old Tyrese Hughes and 6-year-old Tai'zah Hughes.
