West Suburban Bank, 95.9 The River launch shop local campaign
AURORA - Radio Station 95.9 The River and West Suburban Bank have launched "Buy It In The Burbs," a year long program focused on supporting local businesses.
Each month, the program will feature 3-4 towns, with Romeoville, Wheaton, Glendale Heights and Villa Park being first up in February. Buy It In The Burbs will include many elements for listener interaction, including Mayors on the Move video interviews, Bite In The Burbs lunchtime food deliveries by the station's road crew and Burb Buck on-air prize giveaways.
Both 95.9 The River and West Suburban Bank plan to donate more than $250,000 in exposure to highlight the importance of keeping your dollars local.
"We are privileged to live in an area with outstanding shops, dining and attractions," said 95.9 The River General Manager Brian Foster. "By choosing to shop at local businesses vs. big box companies, residents are in turn creating more jobs, boosting the community tax base and economic activity, and even lowering their carbon footprint."
West Suburban Bank Chairman and CEO Kevin Acker, added local companies are the foundation of the community.
"We are proud to partner with 95.9 the River on Buy It In the Burbs, and expect to make great strides to support our area," Acker said.
