Learn how to reduce your risk of heart disease at free NCH lecture

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (February 15, 2016) - Have you ever had a question about your heart health, but were afraid to ask? Now you have a chance to learn more about your heart and have your questions answered by a cardiologist in an informal setting.

To celebrate Heart Awareness Month, cardiologists at Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) are dedicated to raising the community's awareness about heart disease prevention. Three cardiologists will discuss how stress, nutrition and exercise affect the heart during NCH Health Chat from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, at the NCH Auditorium, 800 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights.

Each cardiologist will deliver a 5-minute presentation about heart health. Steven D. Lupovitch, M.D. will discuss how stress affects the heart and how to take control of risks that can have an impact, such as knowing your blood pressure and cholesterol level.

Anand Soni, M.D., will discuss nutrition and how a diet is one thing that people can change to minimize the risk of cardiovascular disease. Ankit Shah, M.D., will discuss how exercise helps improve heart health and can even reverse some heart disease risk factors. The three doctors are cardiologists with NCH Medical Group and NCH Heart and Vascular Specialists.

NCH Health Chat is a public lecture series that features NCH healthcare professionals who present information on specific health topics.
