Elgin Hispanic Network offers scholarship program

Elgin Hispanic Network is accepting applications for scholarships. Three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to local senior high school students of Hispanic descent residing in the city of Elgin.

Since 1992, it has been instrumental in providing over $50,000 to scholarship funds to senior high school students' pursuing advancement of their educational goals of an undergraduate college or trade school curriculum.

Among other criteria, awards are based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, financial need, community involvement, demonstration of bilingualism and biculturalism and involvement within, and on behalf of, the Hispanic community.

This year's application is a fillable PDF form with cloud-based capability upload. Application and instructions can be downloaded at www.elginhispanicnetwork.org.

Deadline to submit completed application is Friday, March 25, no exceptions.

Elgin Hispanic Network is a nonprofit charitable organization that has been in existence since 1987. Membership consists of over 40 organizations and nearly 100 individuals that serve the Hispanic community in the greater Elgin area. The network encompasses many sectors of our community from social services, government, health care, education to private businesses and individuals. Its mission is to positively impact the Hispanic community by providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas, information and resources.
