West Aurora qualifies for state girls bowling tournament

West Aurora's girls bowling team finished in second place at the Reavis sectional Saturday to advance to next weekend's state tournament at Cherry Bowl in Rockford.

The Blackhawks rolled a 6-game team series of 6,180. Waubonsie Valley won the sectional title with a 6,248.

Junior Paytynn Kuhns led the way for West Aurora with a 1,292 while senior Corey McCreedy (1,141), senior Jamie McCreedy (1,366), senior Sydney Lundell (1,239) and senior Emma Wilson (1,142) also added to the team total.
