Arlington Heights man appointed to state construction board

Gov. Bruce Rauner has appointed an Arlington Heights man to a key Illinois board that oversees construction projects.

Jack Carney of Arlington Heights was appointed to an unpaid board term on the Capital Development Board.

He previously worked as a vice president for the civil engineering and construction firm Morrison-Knudson Corp. and as president of Gray International Inc.

"His experience in construction and construction management will bring a valuable perspective to the position," a statement from Rauner's office said.

Rauner is set to give his annual budget address next week, and it's unclear if new construction spending will be part of that proposal.
