District 212 FBLA members compete at Northern Area Leadership Conference

Leyden High School District 212 students who are members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters located at the East and West campuses participated in the FBLA Northern Area Leadership Conference on January 23 at Warren Township High School in Gurnee.

The following Leyden FBLA members finished in the top ten of their competitive event and have qualified to participate at the FBLA State Leadership Conference to be held in Springfield, on April 1-2, 2016.

The qualifiers from the West campus are:

Ismael Ruiz-9th Sports and Entertainment Management

Jonathan Damian-9th Introduction to Business

Over 700 members from 15 FBLA chapters located in northern Illinois attended the Northern Area Leadership Conference. In addition to the competition events, the conference also included activities in personal development, business and leadership training and election of 2016-2017 area officers.

Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million student members preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The nationwide organization also promotes competent business leadership training.
