Naperville CARES scores Yelp Foundation grant

The nonprofit Naperville CARES received a $5,000 grant from the Yelp Foundation to support its mission of helping families in financial crisis meet their essential needs. The grant came from the "Yelp Foundation Gives Local" contest, which doled out $750,000 in grants last month to organizations in 75 regions across the country. Naperville CARES was one of only three suburban charities nominated to participate, and the group claimed half of the $10,000 given in this area. The Yelp Foundation is the charitable arm of the popular restaurant and business rating website yelp.com. It works to address the needs of local communities in access to information, education, economic development and freedom of expression.
