Lake County 4-H Presents International Festival

Every year, the Lake County 4-H Clubs sponsors a gathering of clubs that choose countries to learn about and create in-depth displays. We would like to invite the public to come out and experience 4-H Clubs as they exhibit many different countries from around the World, on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lake County Fair Grounds, 1060 East Peterson Road, Grayslake, Illinois. The admission will be one canned good per person to be donated to a local food pantry.

A "Parade of Countries" will be presented, along with skits, other activities and entertainment. A silent auction will be held which includes baskets that symbolize the various countries. A second silent auction will include international gifts for youth. Proceeds from the evening will go to the University of Illinois Extension Office to assist with budgeting needs.

As you enter, you will be given a "passport mask" that you can take to the different booths as you travel around the world. At each booth you will be given an opportunity to earn a novelty that will be attached to your passport, play games, crafts, hear stories, see costumes and artifacts and learn from the 4-H members about the country they studied.

You can join Lake County's 4-H community today! To learn how to become a 4-H member, or start a new club in your community, or become a volunteer leader, contact Sabrina Huley at 847-223-8627 or email her at huley@illinois.edu.
