Physician/blogger Lina Abujamra to lead Spiritual Enrichment Week Feb. 1-5

Physician, author and blogger Lina Abujamra will be the guest host during Judson's five-day Spiritual Enrichment Week, which gets underway Monday-Friday, Feb. 1-5. The chapel times on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will remain at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin. The services for Tuesday and Thursday will be at 11 a.m. Chapel events are free and open to the public.

The annual series looks to re-energize the Judson chapel community by taking on tough topics that are relevant and riveting. This year's Spiritual Enrichment Week theme will be "Fearless."

Taking on this theme will be Abujamra, a tireless Chicago-based pediatric emergency room doctor, blogger, conference speaker and author. This will be her second time speaking at Judson.

Originally from West Beirut, Lebanon, Abujamra regularly champions the causes of singleness and Christianity. She also hosts audio/video Bible studies; leads the nonprofit organization Living With Power Ministries; heads an Arabic podcast in English and Arabic on iTunes; and directs the website www.livingwithpower.org.

Abujamra is the author of several books including: "Thrive: The Single Life That God Intended," and "Stripped: When God's Call Turns From Yes to Why Me?" Her next book "Resolved: 10 Ways to Stand Strong and Live What You Believe" is due out in May.

"Being back at Judson will be one of the highlights of my year," she said. "I can't wait to urge the students to put their hope in God and to stand strong in faith - no matter what. Oh, and if you're a student, this is your one chance in life to get a selfie with me!"
