Glenbard West puts modern twist on Greek tales of love

Glenbard West High School students will offer a modern take on Greek mythology's tales of love and its transformative powers during Valentine's weekend when they perform "Metamorphoses."

The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 11 to 13, on the auditorium stage at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Directed by Michael Moran, the play is Mary Zimmerman's adaptation of Ovid's myths woven with storytelling that captivates audiences. All of the stories are told around and even in bodies of water, with pools constructed as a part of the staging.

Student leaders involved in the performance are directors Celia O'Brien and Gabi Winter, student technical director Avery Williamson, student business director Amelia Benich, and publicity heads Maggie Carr and Sarah Kitslaar.

Cast members include Max Carter, Gabrielle Evans, Maddie Giffin, Ori Harris, Briana Hryhorysak, Katie Laird, Jillian Locke, Gunnar Maddock, Molly Molloy, George Mugnani. Caitlin Palmisano, Joey Reilley, Camaryn Sapienza, Avery Scott, Geo Smith, Tess Viola, Cameron Young and Adam Zybko.
