Chicago man gets 2 life sentences in double homicide
CHICAGO (AP) - A 54-year-old Chicago man has received two life sentences for killing his wife and mother-in-law.
Robert Danno was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the September 2013 deaths of Mary Ann Urban-Danno and her mother, Theresa Urban.
Danno is accused of strangling the women, loading their bodies into a trash can and driving to a remote part of a forest preserve near Palos Park, where he lit his wife's vehicle on fire with their bodies still inside.
Court records show his co-defendant, Jose Martinez-Hernandez, will return to court Feb. 29 to face charges of first-degree murder and concealing a body. The Daily Southtown (http://trib.in/1lNgvOD ) reports that he's accused of helping Danno strangle his wife and dispose of the bodies.
Police say both men confessed to their roles in the killings.
