Paint your stress away at NCH event promoting heart health

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (January 26, 2016) - Unleash your inner artist - and learn how to manage stress and stay heart healthy at the same time.

Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is partnering with Bottle & Botegga to host an instructor-led painting event to celebrate Heart Awareness Month at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 4, at the Busse Center for Specialty Medicine, 880 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, on the NCH campus.

Sponsored by the Heart and Vascular Center at NCH, Heart Your Heart: Paint your stress away is open to anyone 18 and older who wants to paint and socialize at the same time. Bring a friend and be an artist for a night.

NCH Cardiologist Steven Lupovitch, M.D., will discuss tips for managing stress and how stress affects your heart - all while participants paint their masterpieces.

"Creating art is a very effective way to lower stress levels and stimulate the brain - and anyone can do it," Dr. Lupovitch says. "Painting provides a distraction and gives your brain a break from your usual thoughts."

Registration is required. Cost is $40, which includes paint supplies, instruction, aprons and a 16-inch by 20-inch take-home canvas. Wine and heart-healthy snacks will be served.

Bottle & Botegga is a wine and entertainment studio offering a fun, unique alternative to an ordinary night out with friends.
