St. Charles East wins boys bowling sectional

The St. Charles East boys bowling team rolled a six-game team series of 6,423 Saturday to win the Lake Park sectional and advance to next weekend's IHSA state tournament in downstate O'Fallon.

Senior Cole Cartee led the Saints with a 1,420 pinfall for the day. Junior Dean Mudlong came in at 1,344 while junior Andrew Culbertson rolled a 1,291 and junior Kyle Middendorf a 1,205.

Junior Thomas Green of Chicago Taft was the individual champion with a 1,465.
