Van Gogh exhibition in Chicago to feature bedroom paintings

CHICAGO - A Chicago exhibition next month will mark the first time in North America that three versions of a famous Vincent Van Gogh painting will be shown together.

"Van Gogh's Bedrooms" opens Feb. 14 at the Art Institute. It is dedicated to Van Gogh's painting of his bedroom in Arles (ahrl) in the south of France. More than 30 works by the artist will be displayed, in addition to the bedroom paintings.

The show includes a digitally enhanced reconstruction of the artist's bedroom. Exhibit curators say that will allow visitors to experience the space that inspired the paintings.

Lectures, film screenings and a performance featuring Chicago actors reading from the artist's letters are scheduled during the exhibition. The Van Gogh exhibition is scheduled to run through May 10.
