Baby found safe after SUV carjacked in suburban Chicago
CICERO, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a 1-year-old boy is safe in suburban Chicago after the SUV he was strapped into was carjacked.
Cicero police say a woman was dropping her young daughter off at school Wednesday morning and walking the girl to the door with the vehicle still running and the boy in the back seat when a man jumped into the SUV and drove off.
Police responded and conducted a block-by-block search. They found the SUV about a mile away from the school with the engine still running and the boy still strapped into the back seat.
Police say the infant was given medical attention and reunited with his mother.
The carjacker got away.
