Ultimate Level 6 on top at St Jude meet

The Level 6 girls from Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee are celebrating their success after coming out on top at the recent St. Jude Benefit Meet held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

As well as taking first place in the team results, the girls had a number of standout individual performances. In the Senior age group, top honors in the all-around went to Kayleigh Glickley, who scored a 37.15. She also placed first on beam (9.50), second on floor (9.55) and third on vault (9.40).

Joining her on the podium in second place all-around (36.975) was teammate Jordan-Ann Scott. Jordan also took gold on vault (9.55) and on uneven bars (9.35).

In a close third was Carlyn Berke (36.95), who also won bronze on bars and on beam.

Also in the Senior age group, Claire Kauppila was runner-up on both vault and bars, while in the Junior age group Amanda Britton placed third on vault.

The Level 5 girls came in third place during their session at the meet and fifth when all Level 5 teams were combined. Top among the performances was a second-place all-around finish for Maddie Friel, who also claimed gold on bars and floor exercise. Vault was a strong event for the girls, with Lindsay Fontana and Jillian Ellenwood both placing first in their respective age groups. The two girls also placed third on uneven bars.

Meanwhile, there were silver medals on floor exercise for Chloe Byrne, Reese Berke and Madison Miks in their respective sessions, plus a bronze for Annika Chudy on uneven bars.

The Level 3 girls had a strong showing at the meet, particularly Olivia Auriol, who took the all-around gold (37.45) in the Senior A age group, winning three out of the four events in the process. Angelina Appelbaum (36.90) also claimed the all-around title, this time in the Junior B division, adding a gold on bars and silver on vault.

Other Level 3 successes included first-place finishes for Ava Fendel (Junior B) on both beam and floor exercise and silver medals for Caile Painter (Senior A) on beam, for Elizabeth Haas (Senior A) on vault and for Lyla Drowne (Junior A) on vault.

Among the Level 4 girls, Mackenzie Liebau won the vault title in the Junior B session, while Ellie Butler (Senior A) placed third in the all-around and also claimed bronze on bars. Rebecca Tran also placed third on bars, this time in the Senior B session.
