Elk Grove Leo Club holds successful pet food drive

For the ninth consecutive year, the Elk Grove Leo Club conducted its annual pet food drive to benefit The Almost Home Foundation.

During November, Leo Club members established collection bins at public locations throughout the community, and also utilized neighborhood programs to aide in their collection of primarily food, but all essential pet related items that the foundation utilizes in the care and fostering of dogs and cats prior to adoption. Over 500 items were collected by the Leos and donated to The Almost Home Foundation.

The Elk Grove Leo Club is under the umbrella of the local Elk Grove Lions Club, and Lions Club International, which is a global service organization established in 1917, in Chicago, by Melvin Jones. The Elk Grove Leo Club is made up of students from the seventh grade through high school seniors. Upon turning 18, Leo Club members are eligible and encouraged to continue their service-minded work by joining the local Lions Club.
