Naperville man accused of immigration fraud posts bond

A Naperville man accused of immigration fraud has posted bond, according to federal authorities.

FBI and U.S. attorney officials announced Friday that Lu Lin, 58, of the 4200 block of Colton Circle, faces one count of obtaining citizenship or naturalization unlawfully. His arraignment in federal court in Chicago is set for Thursday, Jan. 21, before U.S. District Judge Edmund E. Chang.

Lin, a Chinese national who became a U.S. citizen, stated on his naturalization application he had never used any other names nor was a member of or associated with the Communist Party, federal officials said.

Federal authorities said Lin actually received an identification document with his photograph but with the name Yung Yeung. They said Lin was a member of the Chinese Communist Party from 1987 to 1997.

He was released on a $500,000 recognizance bond.
