I hate to criticize on a comment that I feel is mostly right, but Becky Diacou's comments on Jan. 11 are not correct and she got mad at the wrong thing. Any old registration slip that has your correct license plate number on it has the correct ID number that is required.

The number does not change. So you only had to look at the old registration you had. There was no need to call the state.

Second comment on having to wait in line at the local currency exchange is your own fault for choosing the local currency exchange. If you are a senior citizen, you do not have to wait in line at the secretary of state office.\The problem is you have to drive to one of their facilities.

You do need to bring the old registration so they can get the needed numbers off of it.

You go to the cashier and pay and get your sticker. Process took me about 3 minutes in their facility.

If you register online, they charge you a process fee.

For the vehicle that was due it was easy to register to get a notice sent by email in the future.

I cannot believe that you have to pay $101 or more to get the sticker and the state cannot afford the postage to mail it. They are not saving in manpower because they still have to have someone input the email info for notices, so they are really only saving postage. Where is the rest of the $101 or more going?

The state really screwed up on this one but that is par for the state of Illinois. It is time for Jesse White to retire.
