Literacy project seeks volunteers

The Adult Literacy Project at Waubonsee Community College is seeking volunteers to tutor adult students in reading, writing and speaking English.

The Adult Literacy Project will offer a tutor training from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Waubonsee's Aurora campus, 18 S. River St.

Additional online, self-paced readings are also required. All training and materials will be provided at no charge.

Participants must register for the training by Monday, Jan. 18.

Volunteers tutor once a week for 90 minutes. Morning, afternoon and evening opportunities are available.
