Series looks at high school depression

The Glenbard Parent Series: Spanish presents "Understanding the High School Blues" with Glenbard East High School psychologist Mariana Proske.

Teenage depression is more common than people may realize. It's more than feeling sad, and it isn't just a bad mood. It can alter every aspect of an adolescent's life.

Proske's presentation will focus on how parents can help identify and respond to teenage depression. Attendees will learn how teen depression is different from the typical ups and downs of adolescence and will learn what parents can do to prevent teens from developing depression, as well as the treatment options for teens when depression is identified.

This free event presented in Spanish will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the library at Glenbard East, 1014 S. Main St., Lombard.
