Probation officer to be honored
A probation officer has been named as one of 2016's Most Influential African Americans in Lake County. Chief Judge Jorge Ortiz announced Monday that probation officer Brian Isom will receive the Civic Leadership Award as part of the honor on the evening of Jan. 24, at Milan Banquet Hall in Waukegan. Master of ceremonies will be the Rev. Eugene Robinson, with three-time Grammy Award winner Darius Brooks as keynote speaker. Isom has been employed with Lake County circuit court for 16 years and specializes in helping offenders secure employment and obtain their GEDs.
