Chilly weather for Chili Open in Des Plaines
Daily Herald report
Players in the Des Plaines Park District's annual Chili Open - billed as nine holes of golf in the glorious warmth of the January sunshine - may not have seen much sun Saturday, but at least they beat the snow and cold that came later in the day.
The winter golf event, open to participants ages 8 and up, included a chili lunch at Club Casa in the clubhouse at the Golf Center Des Plaines.
Des Plaines Mayor Matt Bogusz makes his way up a slippery slope on the ninth hole as he and his golfing buddies played Saturday in the Chili Open at the Golf Center in Des Plaines.
