Hampshire-Henpeck HCE Unit sets first meeting of the year

Hampshire-Henpeck Unit for Home and Community Education will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner, Hampshire.

Topics for the "Lessons for Living/Learning" this year will include "Super Foods to the Rescue," "New Ways to Cut Your Electricity Bill," "Hold That Thought," "Brain Health" and "Five Ingredient Fix."

This month, the unit will be updating the Kane County Association for Home and Community's 2016 Yearbook. There also will be a discussion on Christmas holiday traditions.

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit is mourning the loss of longtime member Doris Klock, who died suddenly Dec. 16. She was a valued member of Home and Community Education since 1954.

Hampshire-Henpeck are members of Kane County Association for Home and Community Education. Its mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through quality educational programs and experiences, encouraging responsible leadership and service to the community.
