Two charged with armed robbery in Hoffman Estates
A Hoffman Estates man was ordered held on $250,000 bail Thursday and charged with armed robbery for stealing a cellphone last month from two people sitting in a parked car.
Jonathan Kazior, 22, was charged after authorities say he and a teenage co-defendant approached two people in a car in the 500 block of Edgemont Lane on Dec 1.
Kazior, who had a knife, approached the driver's side, said Cook County assistant state's attorney Alyssa Grissom. She said co-defendant Bryce Williams, 17, who had a gun, approached the individual in the passenger's seat. The defendants demanded money and a cellphone while Williams cocked his weapon, Grissom said. When the people in the car refused to hand over the items, Kazior reached in and took a phone, Grissom said.
Williams' bond was set earlier at $200,000.
Both defendants return to court Jan. 21. If convicted they face a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
