Lake County sheriff's office arrests 3 during DUI crackdown
Three people were arrested on charges of DUI and 50 people were ticketed for not wearing a seat belt during a recent drunken driving enforcement campaign by the Lake County sheriff's office.
Thirteen special traffic details took place between Dec. 18 and Jan. 3 with a total of 193 citations written. They included 45 speeding tickets and 13 tickets for driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license.
The detail was a collaboration with the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
