Naperville Christian students become bridge builders

In their study of geometry, ninth-grade students at Naperville Christian Academy were tasked with constructing a bridge out of toothpicks.

The bridges were to be built using no more than 125 toothpicks and the students were judged on the total weight each bridge could hold along with the bridges' efficiency - which bridge had the best ratio of weight held to weight of the bridge.

After many tense moments of placing weight in a container suspended from each bridge, the bridges all snapped, though the winning team's bridge held more than eight pounds.
