Lovitsch (39 points) fills it up for Grayslake North

Sidney Lovitsch had to be lovin' it.

Grayslake North's junior guard produced a career-high 39 points in just three quarters of play to power the visiting Knights to an 87-46 victory over Crystal Lake Central in Fox Valley Conference girls basketball on Tuesday.

Lovitsch, a three-year varsity starter, made a pair of 3s, finished 9-for-13 at the foul line and had 12 two-point field goals.

Brandi Thibeaux also scored in double figures for the Knights (10-5, 3-3) with 19 points.

Carmel 49, Grayslake Central 40: A crisp first quarter helped the host Corsairs claim a nonconference victory.

Daija Pruitt scored 6 of her game-high 16 points in that period as Carmel outscored the Rams 17-6.

Alexa Amato had a pair of first-quarter 3s and finished with 12 points, and Dani Delozier had 5 first-quarter points on her way to finishing with 10 for Carmel (7-10).

Amanda Larson made a 3 and finished with a team-high 11 points for Grayslake Central (7-9).

Lake Zurich 41, Jacobs 29: Lake Zurich moved to 9-7 on the season with the nonconference victory over Jacobs.

Abby Pirron had a game-high 13 points for Lake Zurich, scoring 8 of them in the third quarter.

Rachel Kuehr added 9 points for the Bears.
