Prospect Heights Library hosts an Artist Reception

Join us for an artist reception honoring the works of art exhibited in our Lobby for the month of January. Meet artist Elaine Tejcek and enjoy light refreshments. No registration needed. The Prospect Heights Public Library is located at 12 North Elm Street in Prospect Heights.

Elaine Tejcek has been a long time member of the Des Plaines Art Guild and the Park Ridge Art League and resident of Des Plaines, Illinois; originally born in Chicago on the Northwest side.

As a child in grammar school, she earned a scholarship to the Chicago Art Institute and continued classes for several years thereafter. For the past 20 years, she has attended "Outdoor Painting" classes in Door County, Wisconsin, sponsored by Oakton Community College.

She has participated in Art Fairs at Glenview, Skokie, Palatine, Mt. Prospect, Arlington Heights. Park Ridge and Des Plaines. Working primarily in watercolor with some oil and acrylic samples, her interests center around nature, i.e., florals, landscapes and still-life. She works in a representational manner and chooses the subjects that speak to her. Most paintings have been created during her time in Door County.

Elaine's paintings have been on display at the Des Plaines History Center, First National Bank of Des Plaines, Bank One, DePaul University, Des Plaines Campus, the Des Plaines Public Library, the Lobby of the American Medical Association and are hanging in many private homes and offices. Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments at the Library on Tuesday, January 12, 7:00 pm.
