COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Kelsey Mitchell scored 28 points and No. 9 Ohio State beat No. 6 Maryland 80-71 on Saturday, dealing the Terrapins their first Big Ten loss since joining the conference last season.

Alexa Hart added 20 points on 10-for-12 shooting to help the Buckeyes (10-3, 2-0) win their sixth straight and get even for a defeat last year in the Big Ten title game.

Maryland (12-2, 1-1) was unbeaten in its Big Ten debut last season, going 18-0 before winning the conference tournament. The Terrapins had won 31 in a row against Big Ten foes.

Brene Moseley led Maryland with 20 points, and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 16.

NO. 5 TEXAS 86, TEXAS TECH 62

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Imani Boyette had 24 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks and Texas beat Texas Tech to remain undefeated.

Kelsey Lang added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Longhorns (13-0, 2-0 Big 12). Empress Davenport scored 14 points, Ariel Atkins had 11, and Brianna Taylor grabbed 10 rebounds.

Freshman Japreece Dean led Texas Tech (9-4, 0-2) with 21 points.

NO. 10 OREGON STATE 47, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 49

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ruth Hamblin had 16 points and 14 rebounds and Oregon State held off Southern California.

Jamie Weisner added 14 points for Oregon State (10-2, 1-0 Pac-12). The Beavers used a smothering defense to hold the Trojans to a season-low 29.3 percent shooting.

Sadie Edwards scored 20 points for the Trojans (12-2, 0-2).

NO. 11 STANFORD 59, ARIZONA 34

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Brittany McPhee scored 21 points Stanford routed Arizona in a Pac-12 opener.

McPhee was 6 of 10 from the field, 3 of 6 from 3-point range, and 6 of 8 from the line. Alanna Smith added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4 of 5 on 3-pointers for Stanford (11-2).

LaBrittney Jones had 11 points for Arizona (9-4).

NO. 17 ARIZONA 57, NO. 19 CALIFORNIA 49

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Sophie Brunner had 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals and Arizona State beat California in the Pac-12 opener for both teams.

Katie Hempen and Quinn Dornstauder each added 14 points for the Sun Devils (10-3).

Kristine Anigwe had 22 points for Cal (9-3).

NO. 20 SOUTH FLORIDA 61, EAST CAROLINA 59.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Courtney Williams made a jumper near the free-throw line with a second left and had 20 points to help South Florida beat East Carolina in the American Athletic opener for both teams.

Williams made South Florida's only three field goals of the fourth quarter.

Alisia Jenkins added 14 points and 14 rebounds for South Florida (8-3). Jada Payne led East Carolina (6-8) with 19 points.

NO. 21 UCLA 80, OREGON 69

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nirra Fields scored 31 points and UCLA beat Oregon to end the Ducks' season-opening winning streak at 11 games.

Fields scored 11 points in the fourth quarter for UCLA (10-3, 2-0 Pac-12), with back-to-back 3s for a 78-65 lead with 3:03 left. Fields hit 5 of 7 3-pointers, tying her career best.

Alleyne had a career-high 25 points and added 16 rebounds for Oregon (11-1, 0-1) for her NCAA-leading 12th double-double of the season.
