Aurora man charged in October hospital fire
An Aurora man was being held on $1 million bail, accused of setting a fire in October in a restroom of the mental-health wing of Presence Mercy Medical Center.
Rolando Covarrubias Ruiz, 35, was arrested by Aurora police Tuesday at his home in the 600 block of College Avenue, police said.
Ruiz is charged with aggravated arson - setting a fire in a building when he knew, or should have known, people were in it, according to court records.
The fire was reported around 5:20 p.m. Oct. 14, according to police. Nobody was injured.
The charge is a Class X felony, punishable by six to 30 years in prison if convicted.
