Kelmscott employees help food pantry
AURORA - The staff of Aurora-based Kelmscott Communications in Aurora volunteered at the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry to help provide food to more than 1,000 local families.
The full-service marketing solutions provider also donated $500 toward the purchase of fresh hams that were distributed to needy families along with grocery bags of food.
About 14 employees participated in distributing the food to clients of the Aurora Food Pantry including Scott Voris, President at Kelmscott.
"Having a team of dedicated volunteers return each year to assist during this very busy time makes it easier for us to help more families. We thank Kelmscott for their monetary donation too, which helped us provide hams to over 1,000 this holiday season," says Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry Executive Director Marilyn Wisener.
It is the fifth year that Kelmscott employees have aided the food pantry.
"Assisting in providing food for families in need, especially around the holidays, is emotionally rewarding and all should experience it. The grateful faces swell the heart," says Misty O'Connor, Graphic Designer at Kelmscott Communications.
The Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry has served the area since 1981 and provides food and groceries to local households with limited financial resources. The meals they provide help prevent hunger, homelessness and illness. The Pantry obtains food through community food drives, donations from individuals, businesses and organizations, and monetary donations and grants.
