Lake County offers snowmobile safety class

The Lake County Forest Preserve District is offering a snowmobile safety class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the district's operations and public safety facility, 19808 West Grand Ave., Lake Villa.

Passing the written exam at the end of the class allows kids between the ages of 12 and 16 to operate a snowmobile on their own. But older teens and adults can take the class, too. Participation is free.

To register, call (847) 968-3404 or go to lcfpd.org/events/register/9043/snowmobile-safety-class-certification-and-exam.
