Rotary Club of Palatine awarding grants to community groups
The Rotary Club of Palatine is accepting applications from local community organizations for donations as part of its annual allocation program.
Organizations should support the Palatine community directly and be tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Code. All applications will be considered. Money was raised during the 2015 Oktoberfest celebration.
"We had an excellent Oktoberfest that will aid the Rotary Club of Palatine in allocating funds to those in need within our community," said Ed Fee, chairman of the allocations committee. "It's a great feeling to be part of an organization that can give back so much, especially when so many have had to cut back in recent years."
The 2015 donation is one of the largest raised and given out in a single year, he said.
Applications are due by Jan. 15. They are available at the club's Facebook site, or email ed_fee@att.net. The presentation ceremony will be 5:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 26 at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road in Palatine.
